  • Beschreibung: Set against a black backdrop, a troupe of acrobats of varying ages, dressed as and playing the part of Japanese people, perform a series of impossible balancing exercises that defy the laws of gravity. This film forms part of what is known as 'cinema of attractions', successor to the popular shows of the late nineteenth century. Beyond a simple narrative, the film seeks to astound and amaze the audience through a series of visual tricks: transformations, overlays, substitutions and overhead camera work, among other effects.
